• Habitat for Humanity – local Habitat organizations have workdays to accommodate groups.
• Homeless Shelters in your area – feeding programs with homeless people are important with properly sustained.
• Children’s Hospitals – local hospitals are often looking for groups to work with children. 
• Senior Living Centers – nursing homes and rehabs often need groups to clean, minister, sing, and hang out with seniors. Coordinate with your church as they often have a ministry to shut-ins and nursing homes
• American Red Cross: The American Red Cross provide disaster relief and organize blood donations, among other things. Here are youth volunteer opportunities.
• The Humane Society: Find volunteer opportunities in your state, and get involved in outreach, phone banking, or helping out at a local shelter.
• Meals on Wheels: Meals on Wheels is on a mission to meet the nutritional and social needs of seniors. 225 million meals have been delivered so far -- connect with your local provider to find out how you can get involved.

Poverty and despair were stealing away the dreams of the children of El Salvador. Hopelessness leached the spirit of every youngster like a disease. For American-born, Chilean-raised Pastor John Bueno and his wife Lois, seeing the children who lived near their church slowly sucked dry of all self-esteem or hope was heart-rending. It moved them to action.

In 1963, despite the very limited resources of their church, Centro Evangelístico in San Salvador, the missionaries were led to open a small school, combining education with Christian values. This eventually was expanded to include high school and night school.

When Pastor Bueno first shared this plan with the members of Centro Evangelístico, there was little hesitation in the response. Even though, at that time, few members of the congregation owned their own homes and scarcely any had vehicles to drive, they gave from their hearts, and the buildings were built.

This was the genesis of what was to become ChildHope, built on a vision given by God to one man, and the sacrifice of a single congregation.

Over the years, God has perfected the first plan into a proven, effective formula of evangelism and education that gives needy children hope. Today, ChildHope serves nearly 100,000 children in 300 schools and projects in 21 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Go 1+ Month

Internships: Hosted across Live Dead teams during the summer, internships range from one to three months. The goal is to expose interns to missionary life on a Live Dead team, to develop basic skills for cross-cultural ministry, and to provide space for interns to explore a call to longer-term service. We focus on group and individual pursuit of God, team life, study of local religions, language and culture, and the proclamation of the gospel among the unreached. Participants get a closer look at the life and operation of a church planting team, and see the need for God to call more laborers to the harvest fields.

Samaritan’s Feet believes that a new a pair of shoes and the act of foot-washing can:

• Provide a tangible foundation of      hope and the opportunity for a better life.
• Prompt children to focus in school      and families not to worry.
• Protect feet and decrease the      possibility of getting a foot-borne disease.

Since its founding in 2003, Samaritan’s Feet and its partners have distributed over 7.5 million pairs of shoes in 108 countries and over 420 U.S. cities.

Last year, Project Rescue ministered to over 50,000 women and children impacted by sexual slavery in 10 countries throughout Europe, central and southern Asia. Project Rescue partners work to bring the love of God to prostituted women and children at risk. Through aftercare homes, vocational training, after-school programs, night care shelters, HIV/Aids and medical clinics, small groups, weekly services for teaching and worship, and awareness and prevention programs women and children are being rescued and restored.

For almost 25 years Project Rescue has seen God miraculously work on behalf of women and children in the darkness of sexual slavery. The strongest ministry staff today are former madams and young women who themselves found freedom up to 20 years ago through the ministry.
